Gratitude
Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
“The benefits of practicing gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems. And gratitude doesn't need to be reserved only for momentous occasions: Sure, you might express gratitude after receiving a promotion at work, but you can also be thankful for something as simple as a delicious piece of pie.” -Derrick Carpenter, MAPP
Gratitude is one of the best defenses we can develop against anxiety and worry. We don’t give thanks to God because it makes God feel better. Gratitude transforms US. Actively giving thanks to God releases us into God’s loving care. It is in that place that we experience God’s miraculous peace.
See You Sunday!
