It's Raining

It’s raining.
Been raining for days! Not exciting stormy raining, just a constant foggy drizzle. Heaven knows we needed the rain.

We have a strange connection with our environment. As humans, we try not to let rainy days and longer nights affect our mood, but it’s hard. The struggle is real. We are connected to the natural world more than we would like to admit. In the same way, we are connected to each other. Someone else’s gloom can spread through a room like wildfire. Our joy can be contagious as well.

It’s important to understand how our environment impacts us and how we influence those around us. Our relationship to God in Christ won’t guarantee a sunny disposition each and every day. But as we continue to seek Christ in our everyday lives, we will find a greater sense of peace and joy. We have the opportunity to grow into the person that God created us to be. No rainy day can rob us of that peace. Some refer to this state of being as Shalom. May the peace of Christ be with you this day.
